About Us

The Townhouse on Sixth is more than just a sober house, it’s a sober home. Our luxurious Park Slope South facility is a peaceful refuge from the chaos of the outside world, where sober women can find true serenity. Our staff provides guidance and care, while respecting the privacy and individual needs of our clients.

Newly sober women have unique challenges that only another woman in recovery can fully understand. Our all-female staff has decades of successful sobriety, so we do understand. With two live-in case managers, and only four clients in residence at any given time, Townhouse on Sixth offers the highest level of support, care, and safety for our clients. We offer individual case management, custom-tailored to fit each client’s specific needs – so whether it’s setting up a doctor’s appointment, creating a resume, finding a job, or just getting to the next 12-step meeting, we are here to help.

Park Slope South, Brooklyn is a trendy, family-friendly neighborhood, which provides the perfect backdrop for our clients’ newfound sobriety. The Townhouse on Sixth is situated within walking distance of numerous 12-step meetings, local shops, restaurants, and cafés. The Townhouse is also within walking distance of two subway lines, 15 minutes to lower Manhattan by train.

In addition to daily local 12-step meetings, the Townhouse staff regularly takes clients on “recovery field trips” where clients can attend meetings outside the immediate area. During downtime, clients are invited to chill out in the private outdoor Zen garden, join the fun at family game night, enjoy a healthy meal, and more – we have dozens of amenities and services available.

For the past 10 years, Dawn has dedicated her life to sober living and helping others find lasting sobriety. Beginning her 20-year career in hotel management and event planning for companies such as Hilton and Marriott, Dawn developed the foundational skills necessary to successfully manage a sober living house these last five years. However, it is Dawn’s passion for recovery that has had the most positive impact on the those she has worked with. As a graduate of Baruch College having completed trainings in NARCAN and interventions, as well as finishing over 80 qualified CASAC hours, Dawn has many years of experience helping the alcoholic/addict get the services and treatment that they need. She surrounds herself with positive, educated and experienced individuals in the recovery community. Dawn is a certified recovery coach and member of the NYPLA and Clinical Connection of NY.

What is the Townhouse on Sixth?
The Townhouse on Sixth is a luxury women’s sober living environment nestled in the heart of Park Slope South, Brooklyn.
Does the Townhouse on Sixth accept insurance?
No, we are private pay and do not accept insurance. We may offer a scholarship for a reduced rate based upon need.
Are there doctors on staff?
The Townhouse on Sixth does not have any medical personnel on staff. Instead, we employ experienced sober women who are certified recovery coaches, CASAC-T, Narcan and CPR certified. All clients are referred to doctors outside of the residence.
Are men allowed inside the house?
Clients may entertain male guests in common areas during visiting hours or with prior approval from staff.
Is the Townhouse on Sixth a rehab?
The Townhouse on Sixth is a women's boutique style sober living residence that offers support, structure, compassion and guidance to help you build a strong sober foundation for long term sobriety. We are not a rehab or detox facility. Guests are required to complete a medical detox and a 28-day inpatient program prior to moving in.
Will I be allowed to come and go as I please?
The Townhouse on Sixth is not a "locked door" clinical facility. The Townhouse will be your home away from home, so we want our clients to feel comfortable interacting with the world. Clients are free to leave the Townhouse to go to work, run errands, attend meetings, etc. Clients are expected to return home each evening for bed check and random drug screenings. Overnight trips and visits to family are encouraged once clients display their dedication to maintaining a sober lifestyle.
Will I get my own private room?
There are no single rooms at the Townhouse on Sixth. Each bedroom houses 2 resident clients. Clients are expected to be polite, clean, courteous, and respect one another’s privacy.
